Birthed from the smoking embers of Green Magnet School and Kudgel - two of the more critically acclaimed and adventurous bands out of Boston in the late 80s/early 90s.

Written from Shea's point of view, the album opens with "Buick Elektra," an ode to how cool his old car was, and how even that got fucked up by circumstances beyond his control. The album touches on alcoholism, infidelity, remorse, feelings of inadequacy, and general annoyance with the world. Instead of despairing, Shea fills these songs with a cynic's hope that tomorrow might be better, and isn't afraid of being unabashedly poppy in the process.

The band worked out the songs for the album in their own recording studio. They meet up regularly working to breathe life into these songs, making the sounds and words work together to spread the message.
Using 2" analog reels, the classic sound of a recording studio is apparent in the grooves of Invisible Jet. With a sliding glass door providing an isolation booth, Mission of Burma uses the studio as their practice space. Indeed we at Ecstatic Peace first witnessed these asskickers when they appeared with Mission Of Burma. The band’s flight paths have mostly circulated in the Northeast hitting stages with not only Burma but Sonic Youth and Shellac.

Black Helicopter are the real deal - a classic sense of rock heaviness and infectious melody in league with Satan. But they are their own thing, deep and distinctive.
